Dr. Rafal Luchowski received his MSc (2000) and PhD (2004) degree in Physics/Biophysics from the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, where his research focused on the Raman spectroscopy of carotenoids and interaction of nucleotides studied by Stark effect. During his postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Commercialization of Fluorescence Technologies University of North Texas at Fort Worth, Texas, he focused on single molecule studies aimed for detection improvements and single molecule application to biological subunits. Currently, Dr. Luchowski is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biophysics, Institute of Physics. Dr. Luchowski is also a member of Team program Foundation for Polish Science where he serves as Senior Researcher.

Rafal is married (wife Alicja, pharmacist) and has two sweet children Marek and Milenka attending primary and kindergarten schools.
